Meet Brian Hutchings, DDS

Brian Hutchings was born and raised in Copperas Cove, Texas. His interest in dentistry started in his early years when a vacated operatory in his father’s dental office served as a home for his crib and toys. From a very young age he had the unique opportunity of meeting many dental patients and observing the daily workings of a dental practice.

During a summer college break, Dr. Hutchings was first introduced to Alaska driving tour buses. On his days off, he enjoyed spending as much time as possible outside and enjoying the grandeur and beauty that Alaska had to offer. From this time on, he dreamt of making Alaska home.

As an undergraduate, he attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to graduated from dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with High Honors and distinction in research.

Dr. Hutchings fulfilled his summer college dream when he finally settled in Palmer, Alaska after graduating from dental school.  He practiced in Wasilla for 5 years after which he purchased Pioneer Peak Dental Center.  Everyday is now a dream come true as he gets to work with extraordinary people and serve Palmer’s small, hometown community where patients quickly become his valued friend.

One of his many passions is working on the forefront of technology in all aspects of life. Having worked in multiple IT jobs before becoming a dentist, he strives to provide the best dental care through integrating the latest dental technology. He stays current on new techniques and technology in the ever evolving field of dentistry through continuing education classes and personal study of dental literature.

He is dedicated to helping those around him. He served a two year humanitarian mission in Mexico City, Mexico during his college years where he became fluent in Spanish. He participated in many programs extending dental care to the homeless and the underserved in Texas. He is also an active participant in his church congregation.

When not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 11 years, Jessica, and their two children, Madison and Austin. His hobbies include playing the piano, hiking, camping, running, and cycling.
